Yeah my brother in law mentioned something about offering discounts.
If you look on the website though you are actually getting a substantial discount anyway.

Depending on the spec i might be able to produce one for a little bit cheaper.

I'm kind of intested.
What do you do about a screen? we have a DVD and screen in my other car and the DVD player could do with being replaced, so was looking at a satnav/multimap thingy that i can swap into my freelander when I want to go green laning.

You can either get a touch screen for around 140 quid or if the screen that you have now has a VGA port (blue port on PC where your monitor plugs in) then you could hook the carputer up to that and have a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Yes

I alread spoke to David re these a few weeks ago.
I currently run a X60 thinkpad with Memory Map and a remote 7" screen

but am looking at adding a bespoke car pc to run navigation systems only (both MM & something like autoroute)

what power supply does your system have?

That screen would not work, to be honest you want something fairly simple as the carputer will do everything that you want. The machine has 4 USB ports for things such as your GPS receiver, LAN for downloading updates and software, audio output like on a standard pc, line in so that your CD player can also be wired in. The machine is operated by a switch on the dashboard to turn it on and off, then you can use the touch screen monitor to do everything that you want.

Here is a pic of a VGA Port

George,

The systems have either the m1 atx or the m2 atx power supply, these are specifically designed for use in carputers.
They have an auto shutdown when the voltage gets below 11 volts for more than one minute, this will save your battery. The wiring is very easy, Red wire goes to second pos on ignition, white wire straight to positive terminal on the battery, black wire straight to earth.
Davids carputer runs MM fine.
