power loss and then engine died. Empty power loss and then engine died.

hi, i have a freelander 1.8 petrol, it was driving as normal then the engine just died on me without warning! It turns over but wont start, ive changed the spark plugs and theres definetlty a spark there. Ive checked all pipes and hoses,to no avail, has anyone got any clues before i go to a garage. thanks john

not got the petrol but some of the same things apply, check fuel getting to carb, poss fuel pump? compression ok? dont know if there`s cam belt broken etc, ign timing slipped?

depends how fast it went realy? i'd deffinately look for cambelt or the old favourite buggered head gasket.
